The BG96 module from Quectel is so-called multi-mode module. It supports the three cellular standards:
- LTE Cat-M1
- Cat-NB1
- EGPRS
It based on Qualcomm MDM9206 chipset and thus allows the connection of a larger number of devices to the Internet of Things (IoT).
It supports IoT applications with extreme low power consumption, as well as devices that require long battery lifetimes of up to 6-10 years. Thus significantly reduces maintenance costs and extended the long life time of IoT devices.
