Together with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Thundercomm, Inc., we host five exclusive and interactive RUBIK Pi Launch Events in Munich, Hamburg, Utrecht, London and Stockholm, offering you a unique opportunity to explore the versatile application options of the first Qualcomm SoC-based single-board computer and test its features directly in person.

  • Hands-on session in the afternoon: Test the RUBIK Pi in practice! Explore basic commands, activate peripherals and use a sample AI application from the Qualcomm® AI Hub.

    With the new comprehensive Linux software solution, Qualcomm offers a highly advanced development stack optimized for the specific requirements of IoT development projects. The unified Linux distribution supports various System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms and includes essential components such as UEFI boot loader, Long-Term Support (LTS) kernel, Yocto and specially selected drivers, enabling a consistent and smooth developer experience regardless of the target system.
     
  • QUALCOMM ® FÜR KI-ANWENDUNGEN (VORSTELLUNG DES QUALCOMM AI HUB)
    The Qualcomm AI Hub includes a large selection of pre-optimized AI models that are specifically designed for the development of on-device AI with Snapdragon and Qualcomm platforms. With Stable Diffusion, Whisper and Baichuan 7B, for example, Qualcomm provides various models on Hugging Face and GitHub that enable developers to work more time-efficiently in project planning and implementation through easy integration into cloud-based devices with Qualcomm technology and thus bring products and solutions to market faster. With the AI Engine's hardware acceleration across NPU, CPU and GPU, inference times can be reduced by a factor of four, allowing individual steps to be processed faster.
    The various models offer advantages in a wide range of applications (e.g. speech processing, text-to-image, object recognition, etc.) and enable an improved developer and user experience thanks to faster, more secure and more cost-efficient on-device AI.
  • INTRODUCTION RUBIK PI (THUNDERCOMM)
    RUBIK Pi 3, a lightweight development board based on Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS6490, is the first Pi built on Qualcomm AI platforms for developers. The ultra-compact and lightweight microcomputer (measuring only 100mm x 75mm) integrates the high-performing Qualcomm® QCS6490 processor, which delivers 12.5 TOPS of on-device AI inference performance and supports small language models with up to 1.8 billion parameters. It also features memory, storage, and a variety of interfaces and functions, such as i.e. the support of USB Type-A (1x 2.0, 2x 3.0), USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C with DP (4K@60), Camera, HDMI OUT (4K@30), a 1000M Ethernet port, and more.
    RUBIK Pi 3 supports multiple operating systems such as Android / Linux / LU, with SDKs from Thundercomm to provide developers with better experience. With excellent AI performance at 12 TOPS, Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS6490 can be used with Qualcomm AI Hub and enable developers to personally experience the impact of AI evolution.
     
  • GETTING STARTED, UNPACK THE RUBIK PI, SETUP HOST PC
    During this interactive part, we will get started. Unbox the Rubik Pi and all included accessories (full combo ticket required) and set up your own laptop reay to work with RUBIK Pi. After this part of the training, you will be ready to go.
     
  • INTERFACE EXPLANATION
    RUBIK Pi 3 features a variety of interfaces and functions with support for USB Type-A (1x 2.0, 2x 3.0), USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C with DP (4K@60), Camera, HDMI OUT (4K@30), 1000M Ethernet Port, 40pin Header Connector, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Wi-Fi 5, BT 5.2, M.2 M-Key Connector, Micro USB and RTC, etc., to meet various development needs. Besides, it has designed interfaces and is compatible with a variety of Raspberry Pi peripherals, which helps to reduce the implementation effort and cost for developers. In this part, the functionality of the interfaces will be introduced and explained to enable the next step of the training.
     
  • BASIC COMMANDS / FLASH IMAGE
    After familiarizing ourselves with all the functions, we will start working with the Rubik Pi. For this, we will explain and test how to use the most important interfaces, how to establish connections and how to upload your own image. In addition to the basic commands for the interfaces and device control, this also includes setting up the adb and command line interface, the .net runtime environment and the Tflash tool.
     
  • HOW TO ENABLE PERIPHERALS (E.G.DISPLAY, CAMERA, ETC.)
    In this part, we will show you how to use the Rubik Pi's peripherals and accessories on the interfaces such as CSI, USB, HDMI, GPIO, fan, Wi-Fi/BT and how to customize the output according to your needs.
     
  • DOWNLOAD AND RUN AN EXAMPLE AI APPLICATION FROM QUALCOMM AI HUB
    The Qualcomm AI Hub is a very powerful platform for the testing of various AI applications. We will explore working with it and as a result, you will be able to download, run and test AI models from hundreds of possibilities.
